Prerequisite 

Please note:

From 1 July 2021 this course has a pre-requisite of HLTAID011 Provide First Aid. This means that before you can attend this course you must attend and complete a Provide First Aid HLTAID011 course. (HLTAID003 is not accepted).

This is due to a national training package update.

If you have already completed Provide First Aid HLTAID011 you will need to supply your certificate to us as soon as possible.

If you have not completed this prerequisite course you will need to book and attend a course prior to completing  Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy HLTAID015.

This accredited course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively operate advanced resuscitation equipment such as oxygen and a defibrillator.

Entry Requirements

Students must complete  elearning prior to the practical session.

Participants will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments at floor level. This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for a period of two minutes. If you have poor mobility or a current injury, please discuss this with us prior to booking.

Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian.

 Minimum Age

Due to the adult learning environment we do not recommend registration of participants under of the age of 14 however, if required, you may discuss this directly with your trainer.

Requirements for Completion

Participants are required to complete all online learning modules prior to training, attend 100% of this first aid training and successfully demonstrate competence in all assessment activities.

 Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements

Participants will require suitable LLN skills to complete the following tasks/skills:

Listen and understand verbal information delivered by an English-speaking trainer

Complete written incident report forms in English

Read and answer a multiple-choice question paper

Read and answer a short-written answer test

Listen to instructions of an Automated External Defibrillator where prompts are delivered in English

Be able to count to 30

Certification Issued

Statement of Attainment in the following units of competency:

HLTAID014 Provide Advanced Resuscitation & Oxygen Therapy

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Certification Validity

One (1) year from date of issue.
