FAQ
What is the difference between a bandage and a Band-Aid?
Band-Aid is a brand name commonly used to refer to adhesive bandages. Bandage is a generic and much broader term referring to a strip or roll of material used to support dressings for larger wounds, provide support for bone injuries or apply pressure to a wound. There are many types of bandages and they are used for a large variety of applications.
What are the main types of bandages?
1. Gauze bandages (covering and protecting wounds).
2.Elastic bandages (support to sprains, reducing swelling, and securing dressings).
3.Triangular bandages (can be used as a sling to secure splints or as a makeshift tourniquet).
4. Cohesive bandages (for compressive support, wrapping joints, and securing dressings without the need for pins and tapes).
